3 seriously injured in Carbondale crash, 37-year-old cited with DUI

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Police are investigating a crash where three people were seriously injured and a man was cited with being impaired in Carbondale on Thursday.

The Carbondale Police Department said they responded to the crash at 8:32 p.m. on April 10, in the 1700-block of North Illinois Avenue.

Police said two vehicles were involved in the crash with three people seriously injured.

The three injured were taken to an emergency room for treatment.

Police said one of the drivers, identified as Samuel Brown, 37 of Carbondale, was showing signs of being impaired. Brown was then arrested and cited with  Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Failure to Yield while Turning Left.

Police ask anyone who might have information about this incident to call them at 618-549-2121.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
