April 1 election ballots count ends Tuesday in Illinois

CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- The April 1, Consolidated Municipal Election is wrapping up.

April 15, is the final day for local election officials to count Vote by Mail and Provisional ballots, from the April 1, election.

How it works is the Vote by Mail and Provisional ballots postmarked by election day can be counted no later than 14 days after the election.

On April 22, officials will certify the election. According to the Illinois State Board of Elections, on April 22, election authorities shall transmit the number of vote by mail ballots which were requested, provided and counted. They also will supply the number of rejected vote by mail ballots, the number of voters seeking review of rejected vote by mail ballots and the number of vote by mail ballots counted following a review.

The information on the reports should be made public by April 29, 2025.
