CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Saluki softball team is red hot, winning their last 8 in a row and 20 out of their last 21 games.
The most recent victory came against Bradley on April 13, where the Salukis won 9-3, and completed a series sweep. This win was their eighth in a row.
Bradley (18-24, 7-10) scored first with one run in the top of the first. Bradley scored another run in the third inning. SIU (25-15, 16-1) then tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the third and took over from there, scoring seven more runs to Bradley's lone run in the fifth, making it a 9-3 win for SIU.
The Salukis also won the previous two games against Bradley on April 11 and April 12.
Since Marsh 8, the Salukis have been red hot, winning a total of 20 games with their one loss in that stretch against Belmont on March 29.
Next up, the Salukis will travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa, where they will face Northern Iowa on April 18, at 5 p.m.
