COVID-19 cases surpass 25,000 in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD � The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,140 new cases of COVID-19 in Illinois Thursday, including 125 additional deaths.

In southern Illinois, Alexander County reported its Thursday.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 25,733 cases, including 1,072 deaths, in 90 counties in Illinois.

The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.

On Thursday, Governor JB Pritzker also with six other Midwest states to coordinate the reopening of state economies.
