(WSIL) -- Harrisburg Unit #3 schools are switching to a full remote learning plan, effective immediately. Superintendent Mike Gauch sent a letter to parents on Thursday, September 24 explaining the change.
The decision was made after a high number of students and staff tested positive for COVID-19 and are now placed in self-quarantine.
Students who were utilizing in-person learning will be contacted directly about their internet availability. If the student does not have internet, school officials will attempt to deliver wireless hot spots at no cost.
In-person learning is tentatively scheduled to resume on October 5th.
