Health department reports first COVID-19 related death in Franklin County

FRANKLIN CO. (WSIL) -- Health officials with the Franklin Williamson Bi-County Health Department confirm Saturday the first virus-related death in Franklin County.

According to the department, the individual was a female in her 70’s who was previously confirmed to have acquired the disease.

The press release went on to say, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time."

To date, there have been 175 laboratory confirmed positives in Franklin county of COVID-19. Of these positive cases, 86 have recovered.
