SPRINGFIELD (WSIL) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has announced 1,677 new cases of COVID-19, including 192 additional deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 84,698 cases, including 3,792 deaths, in 99 counties in Illinois.
IDPH says labs have conducted 17,668 COVID-19 tests in the past 24 hours for a total of 489,359 tests. Health officials put Illinois' statewide 7-day rolling positivity rate at 17%.
In southern Illinois, new cases of COVID-19 were reported Wednesday in Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Pulaski, Union and Williamson counties.
- Jackson County: 2 men in their 20s, 1 woman in her 40s, 1 woman in her 50s, 2 men in their 60s
- Jefferson County: 1 woman in her 20s
- Johnson County: 1 woman in her 60s
- Pulaski County: 1 woman in her 20s, 1 man in his 40s, 1 woman in her 50s
- Union County: 1 male in his 10s, 2 women in their 20s, 1 man in his 30s, 3 women in their 50s, 4 men in their 50s, 4 women in their 60s, 8 men in their 60s, 4 women in their 70s, 4 men in their 70s, 2 women in their 80s, 4 men in their 80s, 1 man in his 90s
- Williamson County: 1 woman in her 20s
To date, there have been 175 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jackson County, including ten deaths.
Jefferson County has seen 101 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 14 deaths, while Williamson County has had 51 cases.
