CHICAGO (WSIL) -- In response to the new coronavirus outbreak, the (IGB) has ordered the state's 10 casinos to close for two weeks.
The 14-day closure begins Monday.
In a statement Friday, the Illinois Gaming Board said the "public health of patrons, casino employees, IGB staff, and others is of paramount importance."
The board said it would continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
The Illinois Gaming Board (“IGB�) has communicated to the State’s 10 casinos that their facilities must suspend gambling operations for 14 days beginning Monday March 16, 2020. The public health of patrons, casino employees, IGB staff, and others is of paramount importance. The Board is continuously monitoring developments and will update licensees and the public as frequently as possible.
