The school has 350 students. Kankakee Trinity will seek accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International.
Back in mid-August, the Illinois State Board of Education placed a number of schools on probation for not following the mask mandate. Multiple southern Illinois school were on the list.
As of September 3, ISBE has listed every school in southern Illinois as "Fully Recognized," after the schools complied with the mask mandate. Only one southern Illinois school remains on probation, North Wayne CUSD 200.
A letter was sent to the school on August 16th and they have 60 days from the date the letter was sent to issue a corrective plan. If the plan is accepted, the school's status will be moved to "Fully Recognized." If the school doesn't comply or a plan isn't accepted, the State Board may move the school's status to "Nonrecognized," which impacts their state funding.
