(WSIL) -- If you've been wearing a mask for the past few months, have you noticed any new pimples on your face?
Breakouts that come after wearing a mask are now being called "maskne."
Local SIH skin specialists say masks absorb moisture from the areas on our face that are covered up, along with bacteria and stress, can cause a breakout.
They say with a daily cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen, your acne should soon start to clear up.
"Good, healthy, beautiful skin takes maintenance. And so you need to have a good skin care regime everyday that's basic that you will follow. See skin professionals," said nurse practitioner Amy Dinga.
She also suggests cleaning your fabric masks frequently.
