In a letter to the community, Superintendent Steve Miracle says he learned that through House Bill 1 the district is able to create their own plan outside of the mandate. But, the plan has to be approved by the Board of Education.
If the board approves the Superintendent's plan, school will resume on August 17, with the plan that was in place prior to the mandate. The original plan says the district will promote vaccines for eligible students, recommend but not require masks, encourage social distancing, and increase cleaning measures.
Students are required to wear masks until the new plan is approved by the board next week.
