PADUCAH (WSIL) In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Paducah officials are temporarily restricting access to some features at city parks.

The Paducah Dog Park, Skatepark, and Noble Park tennis and basketball courts will be closed to the public.

Playgrounds that don't have fencing will have caution tape and signage to let visitors know the area is restricted.

“We are not closing the parks in Paducah and are encouraging passive enjoyment of the outdoors and the green spaces at our parks while implementing social distancing standards. However, in an effort to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus, we are restricting access to those features such as playgrounds that encourage social gathering and may have numerous contact points, said Mark Thompson, director of the Paducah Parks & Recreation Department.

Paducah parks will close daily at sunset. Anyone with questions may call the Parks' office at (270) 444-8508.
