ILLINOIS (WEEK) � Illinois could soon see looser COVID-19 restrictions.
In an unrelated press conference in Chicago on Monday, Gov. JB Pritzker said it’s “possible� the state could get to the “Bridge Phase� of reopening as soon as next week.
“It looks to be like we’re on a good trajectory,� Gov. Pritzker said, “The common view is that Illinois has weathreed this storm well.�
The bridge phase allows for somewhat looser restrictions than we have now in Phase 4 of the governor’s “Restore Illinois� plan.
Under Phase 4, indoor dining is limited to 50% capacity. In the bridge phase, that would go up to 60%.
To get there, all the metrics that the state health department tracks have to be trending in the right direction.
Vaccinations are still going up, although slower in recent weeks.
Daily new cases of COVID-19 statewide are down, and new hospital admissions are relatively flat.

The fifth and final phase of the “Restore Illinois� plan is be a complete return to normal without restrictions.
There’s no estimate on when Illinois will reach Phase 5.
