HERRIN (WSIL) -- SIH Logan Primary Care in Herrin is temporarily closed after several staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

SIH officials say all appointments for Tuesday, Oct. 6 have been canceled and the facility closed for deep cleaning.

The temporary closure includes lab, imaging and the Walk-in Clinic at the Herrin location only.

“We will continue to vigorously monitor this ongoing situation and share more information as to clinic re-opening as soon as possible, said SIH Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of SIH Medical Group Darrell Bryant.

SIH is working with the Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department and its own infectious disease personnel to begin contact tracing.

"All staff wore appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all patient encounters. SIH believes the risk to patients treated at the clinic is minimal at this time," said a release from SIH Tuesday morning.

Those in need of medical care Tuesday may still visit the SIH Walk-in Clinic on the campus of John A. Logan College or SIH Urgent Care in Marion.
