(WSIL)-- With the COVID-19 vaccine getting closer to becoming a reality for many Americans, one question remains.
Will you be REQUIRED to get the vaccine?
According to a local attorney, your employer could require you to get the vaccine before returning to work.
There are some exceptions, though.
If you have a medical condition that prevents you from getting vaccines -- or if you cannot get a vaccine for religious purposes.
Requiring a vaccine would NOT go against an individual's rights, according to Rhode Law Firm.
"They don't have choices about wearing seatbelts, they don't have choices about situations like that, so those are not absolute. It not just a choice. The choice is yours not to get it, but the employers choice is to not keep you employed," said Shari Rhode of Rhode Law Firm.
The FDA has not approved a vaccine for COVID-19 yet, but a final decision on the Pfizer vaccine could happen by the end of this week.
