“Mobile vaccination sites throughout southern Illinois are helping to meet people where they are. When local agencies band together, we can help remove some of the barriers that may be preventing eligible people from receiving the vaccine, stated Lynn Heins, Extension Director for Illinois Extension in Jackson County. “The Extension office in Murphysboro is easily accessible for rural and agricultural participants from the western part of Jackson County.

The event is walk-in only, and no appointments will be taken in advance. There is no charge for the vaccine, and insurance will not be billed.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be administered during the event. For more information, please visit or call the Jackson County Health Department at (618) 684-3143.
