St. Francis Yard Sale VO.transfer

MURPYHSBORO (WSIL) -- A local animal shelter is bringing back an annual event this weekend. St. Francis CARE is kicking off their yearly yard sale.

The yard sale was canceled in recent years because of COVID-19. Now, they say they have things stocked up and ready to sell. Organizers say that includes everything from house hold items to an elliptical.

"The money goes to support our mission. Obviously we've had a lean year with COVID. We have mortgage, we have salary, we have dog food, we have cat food, we have cat litter. We have expenses. Our budgets around three quarters of a million dollars. It's somewhere between 700,000 and 750,000. That is a lot of money to raise especially in a pandemic year," says Diane Daugherty, President of the Board at St. Francis CARE.

The yard sale is this Saturday from 8AM to 1PM. It's cash only in the parking lot.
