Hourly Forecast

WSIL(Carterville, Ill)-- This morning, most of us are waking up to lots of widespread rainfall. Thankfully, we are not seeing any active warnings at this hour. However, as the remnants of Beryl continue to move over the region we are tracking the potential for both flash flooding and severe weather.

There is a Flood Watch currently in place for most of the region for the potential of an additional 2 to 4 inches of rainfall, broadly across the region. We could see locally higher totals, especially on our westernmost counties as high as 6 inches. This flood watch is in place until Wednesday morning.

This morning, we will continue to see widespread rain and a few thunderstorms, but severe weather potential should remain low this morning. Severe weather chances will go up later on this afternoon, as the center of the remnants of Beryl approach our region. The primary hazards today will be the potential for damaging winds and a few brief spin-up tornadoes.

By this evening, we should see shower chances diminish as the remnants of Beryl track north and east.

Tomorrow once Beryl passes, we will be dry and partly cloudy in the morning, then mostly sunny in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 80s.
