River levels will remain elevated or continue to rise over the next several days. ...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southern Illinois, including the following counties, Franklin, Hamilton, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Perry, Pulaski, Union, Wayne and Williamson. * WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 856 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Radar estimates and spotter reports confirmed many locations already having received between 4 and 10 inches, with locally higher amounts. Additional moderate to potentially heavy rainfall is expected tonight across portions of western Kentucky with lighter amounts elsewhere.
