CORINTH, Ill. (WSIL) -- The entire Corinth Water District is under a boil water order on Thursday.
The Corinth Water District informed consumers about the boil water order at 11:21 a.m. on February 6.
The district said the order was issued after a main water line from Galatia was hit by a fiberoptic construction company.
The boil water order is in effect until further notice.
The CDC recommends bringing water to a full rolling boil for one minute, or three minutes at elevations above 6,500 feet. Then allow the water to cool before using it.
When washing hands with tap water during a boil water order, it's recommended to use soap and water, then using alcohol-based hand sanitizer and let them air dry.
