...FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 25 to 30 degrees
possible. Everyone should see a 32 degree low or close to it.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From late Monday night through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

Weather Alert

.Light to moderate rain will continue through early Sunday before
gradually coming to an end. After the rain ends, it will take
several hours before the flood waters begin to recede along creeks
and streams. River levels will remain elevated or continue to rise
over the next
several days.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southern Illinois, including the following
counties, Franklin, Hamilton, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Perry,
Pulaski, Union, Wayne and Williamson.

* WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water
crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 856 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain. Flooding is already occurring in the
warned area. Between 5 and 9 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Carbondale, Marion, Mount Vernon, Herrin, West Frankfort,
Murphysboro, Benton, Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Carterville,
Fairfield, Anna, Johnston City, Mcleansboro, Christopher,
Jonesboro, Vienna, Rend Lake Area, Sesser and Zeigler.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Do not drive around barriers and find alternate routes if flooding
is observed.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, including the following
areas, Alexander, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin,
Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Massac, Perry IL, Pope, Pulaski,
Saline, Union, Wabash, Wayne IL, White and Williamson, southwest
Indiana, including the following areas, Gibson, Pike, Posey,
Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick, western Kentucky, including the
following areas, Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian,
Crittenden, Daviess, Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins,
Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Muhlenberg, Todd,
Trigg, Union KY and Webster, and southeast Missouri, including the
following areas, Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter,
Mississippi, New Madrid, Perry MO, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard and
Wayne MO.

* WHEN...Through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water
crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding
of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are
running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Flash flooding and flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected. Radar estimates and spotter reports confirmed many
locations already having received between 4 and 10 inches,
with
locally higher amounts. Additional moderate to potentially
heavy
rainfall is expected tonight across portions of western
Kentucky
with lighter amounts elsewhere. These amounts and resultant
flooding
creates a particularly dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Franklin and Williamson
Counties.

.One more round of moderate rainfall is expected today before we
begin to dry out. The Big Muddy River will rise above flood stage
this afternoon and crest next week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

NOTICE...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 18.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this
afternoon to 28.5 feet early Monday morning. It will then
fall Tuesday evening. It will rise to 28.1 feet early
Wednesday afternoon. It will then fall again but remain above
flood stage.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
28.6 feet on 05/02/2017.

Illinois tax deadline extended to July 15

IRS to send refunds for unemployment tax breaks

(WSIL) � Governor JB Pritzker is extending Illinois' income tax return deadline to July 15. That matches the extension announced last week .

Originally, residents and businesses had to have their returns filed by April 15.

Gov. Pritzker, along with President Trump, says the current COVID-19 pandemic is creating hardships, which is why the extension is needed.

"I applaud the Governor for recognizing that many Illinois residents are facing serious economic hardships during this time and taking action to extend the state's income tax deadline to provide a small measure of relief to Illinois taxpayers," said State Sen. Dale Fowler of Harrisburg.

“Postponing the state tax filing deadline will be a challenge to the state and our office’s cash-management duties, but it is a responsibility we are prepared to meet. Over the last three years, the Illinois Office of Comptroller has proven itself to be well-experienced in managing fiscal crises, and we are prepared for the demanding times ahead," added Illinois State Comptroller Susana Mendoza.

The governor's office says the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) will continue to process tax refunds for those filing ahead of the new deadline.

According to IDOR, 3.4 million Illinoisans have already filed their income taxes.
