BUCKNER, Ill. -- A Buckner man faces several charges after police respond to a report of domestic violence in Franklin County.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a domestic violence report in Buckner on May 11 at 9:40 p.m.
As deputies were going to the scene, the sheriff's office noted a caller at the scene reported a gun was shot by the suspect.
Troopers with the Illinois State Police joined to assist, along with other area agencies.
Once authorities got there, the suspect was alleged to have shot a gun but wasn't in possession of it at the time agencies arrived.
Law enforcement started collecting evidence at the scene and then arrested Cody W. Crews, 29 of Buckner.
Crews was taken to the Franklin County Jail and faces charges of two counts of Domestic Battery, Interference with the Reporting of Domestic Violence and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.
The sheriff's office said additional charges are possible.
