POPLAR BLUFF, MO (WSIL) -- Multiple agencies teamed up to arrest a Butler County man for having child pornography.
Officials say a tip from the National Centers for Missing and Exploited Children led investigators to Joshua A. Thomas. The 40-year-old lives in the 2400 block of Thomas Street. Poplar Bluff police arrested him on Wednesday July 21.
That came after investigators seized all of Thomas' electronic devices and found child pornography.
Chief Danny Whitely called Thomas a "dangerous pervert." He commended Cyber Crimes Task Force Commander Lt. Danny Hicks and the NCMEC for getting Thomas off the streets.
Thomas has been officially charged with 6 counts of class B felony possession of child pornography and 1 count of class D felony possession of child pornography by the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.
Thomas is in the Butler County Jail.
