WILLIAMSON COUNTY (WSIL) -- A murder investigation in Williamson County is moving forward with new evidence. The death of a juvenile female has been ruled a homicide after an autopsy on Sunday, December 6.
after a 911 call was initiated just after 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Officers with the Marion Police Department, Williamson County Sheriff's Office, and Illinois State Police were called to the home at 11304 Songbird Rd near Marion, just north of the Little Egypt Baseball Park.
A neighbor tell News 3 that they could hear screaming and crying coming from the home before police began to swarm the area. Other neighbors say that they were doing some work outside all morning and did not hear anything.
A K-9 unit was also on scene searching nearby wooded areas. There's no official word yet from police on what the search was for.
