(CNN) -- The Supreme Court has declined to take up three cases concerning the scope of the Second Amendment.
The dispute concerned a federal ban that's in place on firearm possession for someone with a felony conviction.
The challengers in the cases argued that the Second Amendment does not allow the government to ban possession those those with non-violent past convictions.
It's been more than a decade since the high court has decided a major Second Amendment case. There are still other related petitions pending on the docket.
