METROPOLIS, Ill. (WSIL) -- A woman is accused of threatening public officials and a clerk in Metropolis on Sunday.

Police in Metropolis said they were called to Speedy Mart on 12th Street for a report of a disturbance. Police said their officers saw Devonda LaMourex, 24 of Calvert City, refusing to pay for her coffee and yelled and screamed at the store clerk.

The clerk wanted the woman removed from the property, a report stated.

Officers in Metropolis said they informed LaMourex she was trespassing. When LaMourex was leaving the property, police said she was screaming at vehicles passing by and customers at the store. Police then accused the woman of screaming at officers and the clerk with threatening to shoot them.

LaMoureux was then arrested and taken to the Massac County Detention Center. She was cited with Threatening a Public Official, Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Trespass to Property.
