Disaster response training to be held in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Red Cross is offering a disaster response training in Harrisburg on February 1.

It's called Call to Action: DAT Bootcamp and it's taking place on Saturday, February 1, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Dorrisville Baptist Church at 1300 S. Feazel Street in Harrisburg.

Individuals will learn skills by responding to an immediate aftermath of a mock disaster. Those in training will be able to learn various aspects of local disaster response, which include assisting families and handling casework.

The training will be from experienced instructors by members of the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team. There is no experience necessary to sign up.
