There’s going to be a colorful night for a good cause.Ìý
It’s a paint nite fundraiser benefiting the Autism Society of ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois.Ìý
Attendees will make their own masterpiece under the guidance of Instructors from with drinks and food available for purchase.Ìý
The cost is $45 per person with $15 going toward to the autism society.Ìý
Leslie Koth, a board member of the Autism Society of ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois, says the goal is to raise $750.Ìý
Those funds will help provide equine and swim lessons to children with autism for free.Ìý
Koth says swim lessons are imperative for children with autism since drowning is their number one cause of death.Ìý
While, the horse back riding lessons allow participants to bond with their horses, trainers and other riders.Ìý
Koth adds that these events help autistic children and their families feel accepted.Ìý
"Families of autistic children sometimes receive judgment, not so much on purpose from other people but because they don’t understand," she explains. "So as a community we wrap our arms around each other."Â
Paint nite is taking place at Kokopelli Golf Club in Marion on Saturday, November 16th at 2 p.m.Ìý
