ENERGY, Ill. (WSIL) � Firefighters responded to a home on fire in Energy on Friday afternoon.
Multiple fire crews went out to a home on Shannon Avenue after neighbors reported seeing a fire spreading on the back side of the house.
Firefighters from Energy and Herrin quickly started dousing the fire and knocked down the flames.
The home had significant fire, smoke and water damage. Part of the roof also fell in over the garage area.
Neighbors told News 3 they called 911 after they heard an explosion and found the back side of the home on fire.
Other agencies responded to the scene as well. This includes the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, United Medical Response and a State Fire Marshal unit.
One firefighter was also seen treated with oxygen at the scene.
It is unknown at this time what the cause of the fire is.
