Firefighter injured after responding to fire call in Graves County

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. � A firefighter was injured after responding to a fire in Graves County on Saturday.

The Mayfield Graves County Fire & Rescue Squad responded to a structure fire call on March 1.

Fire crews were at the scene of the fire when firefighter Jenny Buckman 48, was injured, fire officials reported. Buckman was then taken to an out-of-state hospital.

“She is doing good, is sore and moving slowing but with the grace of God, she will be okay,� the Mayfield Graves County Fire & Rescue Squad stated on a post. “We would like to thank the community that has been praying for her. Please keep prayers going her way and for our firefighters.�

Jenny has been a volunteer firefighter for 15 years at the department.

Assisting at the scene was Mayfield-Graves County EMS, AirEvac, Graves County Sheriff Office, KSP, Melber Fire Department and Calloway County Fire and Rescue.
