UPDATED SEP. 19, 2021:
CARTERVILLE, ILLINOIS (WSIL) -- More than $6,000 is raised through a Pasta Dinner and Silent Auction to help a local teen who is battling Leukemia.
Dozens made their way to the Carterville Community Center Sunday afternoon to support Kaliann Eubanks, who was diagnosed with the disease less than two months ago. The 14-year-old is undergoing intensive chemo treatment in St. Louis at Cardinal Glennon.
Event volunteer and Kaliann's aunt, Natalie Cain says, now the family is making many trips back and forth to the hospital while still taking care of life at home.
"It's just a hardship, as everyone knows who has anything like that, that goes on in their life, so we're hoping this is going to help them with their finances medically and food and transportation in general," says Cain. "The community has been awesome as you can tell we have so many things on auction, it's just been wonderful."
All items and supplies were donated for the auction and dinner allowing 100-percent of the proceeds to benefit the family. If you missed out on Sunday's fundraiser and would still like to help, a .

CARTERVILLE, ILLINOIS (WSIL) -- You can help a local teen from southern Illinois, who is battling cancer.
14-year-old Kaliann Eubanks is currently undergoing intense treatment at Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St Louis, Missouri to treat her leukemia.
Her parents are traveling back and forth to the hospital, while still trying to take care of things at home including her three siblings.
To help support Kaliann and her family by easing some of the financial strain, a pasta dinner fundraiser and silent action is taking place at the Carterville Community Center.
The event is happening from 10:30 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 19th.
