...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and will continue.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Sen. Terry Link resigns from State Senate amid tax evasion investigation

SPRINGFIELD (Capitol Bureau) -- Illinois State Senator Terry Link submitted his resignation letter from the Senate on Friday.

Sen. Link serves the 30th Legislative District of Illinois.

His resignation is effective on September 12th at 9:00 am.

In response to his resignation, Senate President Don Harmon says, “I look forward to welcoming and working with a new senator from Lake County. We’ve got a lot of work to do for the people of Illinois.�

Sen. Link was charged with tax evasion by the U.S. District Court back on August 13th, 2020.
