...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and near Murphysboro

.Moderate flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At
Plumfield, the river is currently cresting near 28.1 feet. At
Murphysboro, the river has crested and started a very slow fall.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
28.0 feet on 04/03/1985.

American Legion in Marion to hold Veterans Day program

Veterans Day

MARION, Ill. -- The American Legion Post 147 will be holding a Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday.

The ceremony will take place on the Marion Town Square on November 11th at 11 a.m.

Retired Chief Master Sergeant Ken Hilliard will be the guest speaker at the event.

Organizers invite and encourage the public to attend to give honor to our local veterans.

Organizers also said in the case of inclement weather the program will be indoors at the Legion Post home on 11720 Longstreet Rd, Marion, Illinois.
