LICK CREEK, Ill. (WSIL) -- A local alpaca ranch is holding their annual Christmas with the Alpacas event.

Rolling Oak Alpaca Ranch holds this every year. The event runs through the first three weeks of December. There will be activities, Santa and alpacas.

Morgan Stevenson is one of the owners of the ranch. She said this is their way of giving back during the holidays.

"We were one of those families, not everyone can afford to come and pay because they have bunch of kids, that kind of thing," said Stevenson. "The Christmas event is our give back to the community event. It is free. It is completely free to come. We pay for Santa so people don't have to. The only thing you would have to pay for is if you would want to do a craft which is 5 dollars or feed the alpaca which is a dollar a cup."

The mother of Stevenson, Judy Hoepker, is also an owner of the ranch. She explained what she hopes the ranch can give to families when they come.

"You know we want everyone to feel welcome and happy while they are here," said Hoepker. "We want this to be a place of excitement and joy. We want it to be a family memory; like one of those core memories, like one that you remember doing all the time and looking forward to every year."
