MARION, Ill. -- Fire crews rushed to the scene after a report of a home on fire in Marion on Tuesday morning.
Firefighters with Marion Fire Rescue responded to the intersection of N. Vicksburg and W. White Street where crews learned there were two people inside the home.
Marion Fire Chief Tim Barnett said once they arrived, crews were able to rescue two people from within the home.
The fire caused damage within the home, however, fire crews pulled hoses into the structure and ventilated the home using fans.
United Ambulance Service and Marion Police were also on scene.
Barnett said the home is a total loss.
The fire is under investigation.
