Home a total loss in Buckner after fire spreads throughout home

BUCKNER, Ill. -- Fire crews responded to a home on fire early Monday morning in the community of Buckner.

Coello Fire Chief Ron Little said multiple fire crews responded to a home on East 2nd Street in Buckner for a fire spreading throughout a home.

Upon arrival, one room was fully involved which then spread into the attic and throughout the rest of the home, Little noted.

One person was reportedly living in the home but was not there at the time of the fire.

Crews were on scene for about two-and-a-half hours.

The home is a total loss.

Assisting with the fire were fire departments from Buckner, Christopher, Zeigler and Benton. West City Fire Department covered the Buckner station during the call.
