Illinois State Police stated... Alcohol and drug impairment are estimated to be a factor in more than 47% of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois. There is one alcohol-related traffic fatality every 39 minutes in the United States. RSCs are designed to keep our roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road. This project was funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
ISP also released results in relation to occupant restraint enforcement patrols throughout Williamson County throughout the month of June as well.

ISP stated - Alcohol and drug impairment are estimated to be a factor in more than 47 % of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois. There is one alcohol-related traffic fatality every 39 minutes in the United States. Over half of all fatal crashes in Illinois occur at night. The NITE program allows officers to work even harder at removing dangerous impaired drivers from the road and making sure everyone is buckled up. This project was funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
ISP also announced results of their alcohol countermeasure enforcement patrols for the month of June. State police said these patrols focus on preventing, detecting and taking enforcement action in response to violations in relation to impaired driving and illegal transportation or consumption of alcohol or drugs.
