CARTERVILLE, Ill. - UPDATE: 5:56 p.m. -- One person is dead after a motorcycle crash along Route 13 on Friday afternoon.
Carterville Police Department reports emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash at 3:04 p.m. along Route 13 just east of Division Street in Carterville.
Police said the one person died in the crash.
The name of the deceased is not being released at this time pending notification to family members.
UPDATE: 5:05 p.m. -- Authorities responded to a traffic crash in Carterville along Route 13 Friday afternoon.
An emergency alert was first sent out to the public in the immediate area at 3:43 p.m. on Friday, stating Route 13 eastbound was closed between Division Street and Wolf Creek Road.
Multiple emergency crews were on scene working the crash. We do know the Williamson County Sheriff's Office along with the Carterville Police Department were on scene.
A second alert was sent out just after 5 p.m. stating the road has reopened.
