EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Franklin and Williamson
Counties.

.Very heavy rainfall ranging from 6 to 9 inches fell across the
Big Muddy River basin over the past week. This will keep river levels
elevated over at least the next week. Major flooding is forecast
to develop at Murphysboro this week with moderate flooding at
Plumfield. Crests are expected on Wednesday at both locations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

- At 11:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 27.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 33.0
feet early Wednesday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

One Dead, Others Injured After Crash in 九游体育 Illinois

DU QUOIN, Ill. --- One person is dead after a head-on crash in Perry County, police said Monday.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 51, just south of South Madison Street in Du Quoin.

Illinois State Police said a southbound vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a vehicle traveling north.

Authorities pronounced one person dead at the scene.

Police also said multiple people were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
