MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- The final day of the Very Merry Marion Market has wrapped up.

The Very Merry Market brought out many visitors from across the region over the weekend into Marion.

Over the past three days, hundreds have gone to the Marion Square for the event. There were vendors, food trucks and activities for the kids. Rachel Hooten is the organizer of Very Merry Marion Market and she says it's been a dream come true.

"It makes me feel so amazing," said Hooten. "I mean I just wanted to cry on Friday because everyone came. Seeing all the kids, even teenagers, families and the polar bear hunt running around, everyone is just having so much fun."

The event hosted several local vendors like Vinyl and Threads. Brenda Jessie says she is grateful for the support from the community.

"It has been such a great crowd. Marion has been so great and so supportive and the city letting us set up here and the businesses," said Jessie. "The civic center has been so helpful to us. They all have been great."

Many came out to see all the different activities the market had. Heather Turner brought her daughter this year and says she is grateful for all the activities they can enjoy together.

"It's perfect for a family there. So many things to do, and Santa," said Turner. "That is always a win, win with him and then we've got the polar bear hunt that we can go do and win a prize for."

Officials from the event area hoping for a even better turn out next year.
