$18,000 Worth of Copper Wire Reportedly Stolen, Sheriff's Office Seeks Info from Public

MAYFIELD, Ky. -- Authorities in Mayfield are looking for the public's help in a copper wire theft investigation.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office shared video of a vehicle pulling a trailer at a construction site in Mayfield, just off of US Highway 45 North of Mayfield.

This reportedly happened in the early morning hours on August 12.

The sheriff's office said an older model Ford Escape was pulling a single-axle trailer and the occupants stole 11,000 feet of copper wire from the construction site.

The copper wire was valued at more than $18,000, authorities said.
