...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Franklin and Williamson
Counties.

.The Big Muddy River continues to rise due to heavy rain last week
and over the weekend. The river will crest on Thursday before
starting a very slow fall.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...Major
flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

- At 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 28.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 30.7
feet early Thursday morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Lawmakers work to address catalytic convertor thefts

SPRINGFIELD (WSIL) -- Illinois lawmakers are working to address the increase in catalytic convertor thefts in the state.

Lawmakers passed a bill requiring metal dealers to keep a record of any catalytic convertors that come in and make a copy of the seller's driver's license. 

The law states dealers can't purchase a convertor worth over $100. 

The bill now heads to Governor JB Pritzker's desk. Â
