CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (WSIL) -- First responders come together to rescue a man from a house fire.聽

The morning of November 19th, dispatch sent to the 5000 block of Highway 121 North in Stella. Crews were responding to a report of a mobile home on fire in a trailer park community.

Dispatch also told crews that a neighbor, who called 911, believed the homeowner was possibly still inside the home. However, the neighbor could not get an answer at the door.

When fire crews and county deputies arrived on-scene, the neighbor approached them and showed them where the bedroom area would be from the outside of the mobile home.

After removing the window from the bedroom, first responders found the bedroom empty. Then when more first responders showed up, they forced the front door open and made entry.

Fire rescue says they found the mobile home to be filled with smoke and fire could be seen inside the kitchen.

The homeowner was found unconscious and unresponsive in the living room area. Personnel checked the homeowner and found he still had a pulse, so he was carried out of the home to an awaiting ambulance.

Murray Calloway Co. Ambulance personnel treated him for severe smoke inhalation before transporting him to the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

He he was later flown to an out of state hospital by Air Evac. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire inside the residence.

CCFR responded with 2 pumpers, 3 tankers, 1 support truck & 1 command truck with 19 firefighters who were on scene for approximately 2 hours. CCFR was assisted on scene by the Calloway County Sheriff鈥檚 Office, Murray-Calloway County EMS & West KY Rural Electric Cooperation.聽
