25-year-old seriously injured after vehicle hits tree

BUTLER COUNTY, Mo. -- A 25-year-old man was taken to a hospital after his vehicle went off the road and hit a tree near Poplar Bluff.

Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported the crash happened early on Monday at around 3:30 a.m. along Butler County Road 448, roughly one mile west of Poplar Bluff.

MSHP said Michael Lady,25 of Fairdealing, was driving a 2022 Can Am Defender when the vehicle went off the road and hit a tree.

Lady wasn’t wearing a safety device in the vehicle, MSHP reported.

The driver was air lifted to St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas, with serious injuries.

The 2022 Can Am Defender was totaled.
