SCOTT CITY, Mo. (WSIL) -- A building in Scott City was damaged due to a fire which broke out on Sunday afternoon.
The Scott City Fire Department said their crews responded to the SEMO Port Authority on October 27, at 1:12 p.m. for a first alarm structure fire.

Firefighters were able to get in onto a stairwell on the outside of the building and got a water supply established through a ladder truck.
Fire crews then started attacking the fire. Mutual aid also created some ventilation on the roof and fans were used on the stairs.
Fire crews were able to contain the fire and there was some damage reported to the roof area.
There were no injuries reported.
The Scott City Fire Department said the origin of the fire was some duct piping in the building on the fourth floor. Â
