SCOTT CITY, Mo. (WSIL) -- A local school is helping a student and his family after the child was struck by a vehicle after stepping off of a school bus last week.

The Scott City R-1 School District is holding a fundraiser for Bryson and his family after the tragic incident happened on January 13.

The 6-year-old student was taken to a hospital after a vehicle struck him after getting off at a bus stop. This happened just south of Morley last Monday.

The 6-year-old child was a student at Scott County Central.

Scott City School District is asking their community and students to wear a hat or one of the student's favorite colors, red or orange, on January 22. They are also collecting donations of $1 for the student and his family.
