BUTLER COUNTY, Mo. -- Two people were sent to the hospital with serious injuries after an ATV crashed over the weekend.
Missouri State Highway Patrol said it happened on December 2, at 5:40 p.m. along County Road 629, about a mile north of Broseley in Butler County.
Tyler Cowan, 22 of Broseley, was driving a 2023 Can-Am Maverick when the vehicle starting skidding and sliding, MSHP said. The vehicle then overturned and injured both Cowan and the passenger, 22-year-old Joshua Sullivan of Poplar Bluff.
Cowan was sent to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center by ambulance while Sullivan was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
According to an arrest report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Cowan faces a felony charge of Driving While Intoxicated - Alcohol Involving Serious Physical Injury. This arrest came at 6:17 p.m. on December 2, 37 minutes after the crash took place.
