...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and near Murphysboro

.Moderate to major flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At
Plumfield, the river is now forecast to crest in moderate flood
stage near 28.5 feet Friday morning. At Murphysboro, the river is
cresting currently cresting in major flood stage near 36.4 feet.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate to Major flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Pets of the Week: May 27, 2021

CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- Four animals are up for adoption, including two cats and two dogs, in this edition of Pets of the Week.

Red is a male Russian Blue/Domestic Shorthair with a lot of energy. He would rather play than eat. He likes watching TV, climbing the cat tree, and loves all toys, but his favorite is balloons and balls. Call Little Paws Rescue of Mt. Vernon for more about Red.

Barney is a sweet, playful male Beagle who is about a year old. He loves to run and explore, but he needs a fenced yard. He gets along with larger dogs and cats. Barney is neutered, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative. He's up for adoption at Union County Animal Control in Cobden.

Saline County Animal Control has a dog up for adoption. He is about 3-years-old and weighs almost 70 pounds.

Tillie is a 2-year-old Domestic Shorthair. She is always ready to play and steal food and will cuddle whenever you need. She may take a little bit of time to settle in with other animals. Meet her at the Humane Society of 九游体育 Illinois.
