UNION COUNTY (WSIL) -- No injuries were reported after a car was hit on the wrong side of Interstate-57 in Union County.
Illinois State Police say it happened just after 3 p.m. near mile marker 36.
ISP says 87-year-old Herbert Schauer, of Anna, was traveling south, when he says an unknown truck tractor semi-trailer cut him off causing him to enter the median and cross into the northbound lanes of I-57.
65-year-old William McLaren, of West Frankfort, was driving a semi and swerved to miss Schauer, but was unable to avoid the collision.
The semi hit Schauer's car on the front passenger side, but did not cause any injuries.
