The city of Paducah is searching out artists for a new project on the city's southside. They're looking for creative individuals to partner with the Creative and Cultural Council on the project.

PADUCAH, Ky., (WSIL) -- The city of Paducah is searching out artists for a new project on the city's southside. They're looking for creative individuals to partner with the Creative and Cultural Council on the project.

The competition is open to artists of all kinds, who can appreciate the complication and scope of the project. Applicants do have to meet several qualifications including being over the age of 18, public art experience, and reside within a 90-mile radius (or have previously lived within a 90-mile radius) of Paducah/McCracken County.

Those who plan to review future proposals are looking for some specifics when it comes to the significance of the art featured in the southside area. Plucking from their press release, officials ask those applicants to, " be intentional and responsive... by interpreting and creating awareness of Paducah's historic past, giving voice to elevating local communities, and sharing the vibrancy of Paducah's contemporary character and cultural narrative".

Proposals must be turned to the City of Paducah on March 14, 2025, by 4 p.m.
